I'm beginning to realize if one were to live out Christianity flawlessly, they would probably wind up on a cross. Persecution is just part of the plan. It's part of the perfect plan. It's part of the sacrifice; His perfect sacrifice.
I agree. As long as I am not looking for persecution that is. When I look to Jesus persecution is probably right around the corner, but there is a fine line between Persecution and self-inflicted martyrdom.
Dude Nick I love this man. Haha I like how small this post is too. You're giving us like a little snipit of wisdom. A little nugget that can capture an entire concept in a small phrase. Pastors could spend an entire sermon hitting on this one idea. Great stuff. Thank you
indeed!!! I've been thinking about this lately as well. It is the most profound and life restoring decision we could ever make, to be a true disciple of Christ - yet the most painful and severe decision as well. I dig your thoughts.
Quite frankly, that thought use to terrify me. But now I realize that God will prepare our hearts for whatever path God has chosen for us (although I'm still far from ready for that).
Just thinking about our lives as Christians, from the outside, our lives of self discipline and pursuing righteousness may seem boring, dull, and hard from the outside, but as someone who is in the midst of it, we can see how amazing a great it is and how God's was right all along to lead us to such a life.
Christianity is definitely not an easy walk in the park, and this is great cause it puts things in perspective. Reminds me of a quote. "If it's not worth fighting for...then it's not worth anything at all". If we believe in the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, then we will be willing to live this life for Him no matter what comes our way.
